Use A Natural Chigger Repellant – Not DEET

Summer is coming to a close, but the effects of chigger bites are still being felt. Folks are still being bitten by ticks, mosquitoes, other various and assorted flying demons and of course, the infamous chigger. It seems no one is immune from the effects of some stinging, biting or chewing vermin of some description when it comes to summer.

The effects can be almost of no effect to life threatening. Therefore people everywhere have turned to some brand of insect repellant to ward off the effects of those bites and stings.

Precautions so be taken to avoid bites and stings before going into the critters territory. Stinger can be brushed off, not squeezed and pulled off. Ticks and chiggers can be treated with some for of anti itch formula. Ticks can be taken off with dish soap and a cotton ball. Apply the soap to the cotton ball and set it over the tick for short spell then when removed the tick should come with it. No nasty heads left behind and no excess poison squeezed into the bite.

The form of war chosen most often is some topically applied commercial insect repellant. The active ingredient in most is a chemical called DEET. The various products have various amounts of DEET by volume from a few percent to 100%.

While millions of dollars are spent annually extolling the virtues of these various repellants, not one will tell you of the potentially devastating side effects of DEET.

WARNING!!! Do NOT use DEET for a Chigger repellant!

The findings recent research and not so recent research on DEET should be enough to make you squirm. Duke University revealed that DEET is responsible for behavioral changes and even brain cell death with frequent use. Prolonged continuous exposure of DEET to children and the aged is DANGEROUS. If it is dangerous to them, maybe is also dangerous to middle aged men and women also.

Human skin will absorb any kind of toxic and non toxic substance applied to it. IN SECONDS!

Chigger Bites are a small price to pay compared to the side effects of DEET.

DEET is responsible for producing the following side effects to users even years later after being exposed. Severe memory loss, seizures, headaches, muscle and joint pain, shortness of breath, tremors, fatigue, weakness and even death. WARNING! Insects are not the only thing that should avoid DEET!

Do not apply DEET directly to the skin and especially do not apply it to the skin of children. Preferably find a natural insect repellant and be safe. Protect your children from these horrible side effects. You are old enough to choose for yourself, Please do not choose to expose the helpless and innocent to the ravages of DEET.
