Music can be calming, energizing, just background noise, or pure entertainment, that’s what I love about it. I have a hard time doing work or anything else without music in the background. I hook up my iPod either to my stereo or to my computer, and I make sure to choose calming tunes when I work. Sharing music with friends is my favorite part; they’ll tell me about their latest favorites and I’ll share mine. When we have a chance to see the band live in concert, it’s even more fun.
The best place to check out the latest up-and-coming bands is on MySpace. The site is dedicated to helping newcomers to the music scene post their tunes so the world can hear them. My absolute favorite MySpace page belongs to Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, from the movie “Once.” It was a great movie in which Hansard and Irglova fall in love and share their love of music together. They have clever, catchy tunes and Irglova has an incredibly enchanting voice. They are definitely worth checking out!
