I learned how to negotiate my salary and benefits and ask for the position I wanted.
My Favorite Teacher
Think back to your elementary and high school days. Do you remember your favorite teacher? My favorite teacher was my 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Patton. She was always very patient, taught us a lot, and really cared about every one of her students. I was what you’d call “high strung” as a kid; I always had a ton of energy and liked to test peoples’ limits. In school, I enjoyed learning, and if I was interested in something I would focus and concentrate very well, otherwise – forget it. Mrs. Patton realized that I just needed to be challenged, so she never got upset at me and instead just pushed me to do well. I still can hear her say in her very calm but strong voice, “Keep all four legs of your chair on the ground,” and then she’d continue on with her lesson. I think that her influence still affects me; it’s amazing to me what a great influence teachers can have on us throughout our lives.

I remember when I first learned to use the Internet in high school. But since then, technology has allowed for extremely fast download times and people have added billions of pages to the web. It’s incredible.
