Getting What You Want Out of Life

What, some may ask, is life coaching? The answer is simple: life coaching means partnering with someone who can give you an objective, third-party opinion/approach for the difficult decisions you face in life. This includes finding a job, getting through nerve-wracking interviews, making marriage and family decisions, and even becoming more confident and professional.

I recently worked with a life coach, and she taught me more things in one session than I had learned in a lifetime! For example, she told me how to negotiate to get what I want (and deserve), how to stop bickering with my sister, how to take a lot of unnecessary stress out of my life, and more. Although the session was expensive (they can cost upwards of $100 an hour), she helped me land a job that I love and manage my finances in a way that stops me from living paycheck to paycheck. So, was it worth it? Definitely! In fact, I continue to have meetings with her once a month to make sure I stay on track…and, at the moment, she’s helping me work on asking for a raise and take the stress out of making wedding arrangements. However, for many people, being a vegetarian is exactly what their body needs to be healthy.

You can even begin by creating a list of the foods you eat and how they make you feel. For example, foods high in carbonation and sugar may give you energy for a few moments, but in the end they leave you grumpy and tired. No matter what type of nutrition your body needs, everyone can benefit from a daily vitamin, a variety of fruits and vegetables, daily grains such as rice and oatmeal, and healthy proteins.

Natural Healing.. and a Horse!

Healing naturally is so important. I recently came face-to-face with just how important natural healing is when my friend was kicked by a horse. The horse broke her jaw in several places. She lost teeth and had a huge gash across her face. It was terrible. After several surgeries to rebuild her jaw, she was left with dissolvable stitches and metal plates holding her jaw together. However, because she didn’t incorporate any natural healing elements into her recovery, her body began to reject the stitches and the plates.

Even though the stitches were supposed to dissolve naturally, her body would have none of it. Also, her bone became infected by the metal plates they had screwed to it. What was most interesting about the whole procedure was that before her accident, my friend had believed whole-heartedly in natural healing. Although she could not have expected her jaw to heal without surgeries, she was mad at herself for not combining natural healing techniques with modern medicine to help combat infection and promote positive healing. So now she is left facing yet another surgery. This time, doctors will remove all the plates and stitches and secure her jaw bone from the outside, which is a lot less invasive. My friend plans on incorporating natural healing techniques such as using healthy foods, herbs, and even acupuncture and light therapy to combat infection. This time, she’s sure she’s doing the right thing!
